Some years ago I was asking myself the same question.

Back then I was fit, slim, pain free and full of energy. I admit to thinking that health supplements were only for sick or old people and that one day, perhaps, I MIGHT need them, like when I was sick or old!

Now that I’m a wee bit older, I wish I had started taking supplements back in those heady, fun loving days and maybe my body would be a bit healthier today.

Not that I’m in a bad way, or at least I hope I’m not. But therein lies the hidden truth. Just because we feel ok it does not mean that all is well on the inside! You know, people don’t die suddenly from a heart attack unless there has been internal damage going on for quite a long time before the catastrophic event occurs.

It was this realisation that caused me to do something to protect my health. Since I started taking natural health supplements, (also called nutritional health supplements), I’ve noticed a great deal of difference in my mood, energy level, concentration and mental focus. My friends tell me I laugh more. Well who wouldn’t, if you’re feeling on top of the world!(Actually that was a bad choice of phrase, because I hate heights)

Of course, taking supplements costs some money but keep in mind these words…”You can always earn money again…but your health is priceless!”

So,I decided to start this blog to get some information out there to you and other people who may be interested in having a better quality of life.

Omega 3 may help slow down the aging process.

 The information below is taken from the blog of the founder of Xtend-Life Products. Whilst it uses a lot of technical talk, I think we can all get the gist of the importance of the information.

There’s a lot of excitement coming from the University of California in San Francisco…it’s all about the research being done on telomeres, the DNA sequences at the end of chromosomes that shorten as cells replicate and age.

Elizabeth Blackburn, a telomere pioneer at the institute, recently received the Nobel Prize in Physiology for her discovery of telomerase, an enzyme that protects telomeres as they shorten with each replication. Her work aims to overcome the burden of damage caused by aging cells.

In addition to this, researchers from the University of California have linked omega-3 to younger biological age. They found that people with low levels of DHA and EPA experienced the most rapid rate of telomere shortening, while people with the highest average blood levels experienced the slowest rate of telomere shortening.

How Do You Know Which Is The Best Fish Oil To Buy?
